Who we are
This website is operated by Victor Morkos doing business as Morkos Automation (“we,” “us”), based in Illinois, United States. Contact: use the project / question form on this site, or email victormorkos1011@gmail.com.
What this policy covers
It describes information collected through morkosautomation.com, including the contact form, client portal, admin area, and first-party analytics. It does not cover third-party sites we may link to.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Inquiries: name, email, project description or question, and optional budget/timeline.
- Client portal accounts: credentials and project status content you or we store for ongoing work (managed through our database).
Information collected automatically
- First-party analytics (optional): page path, click labels on marked buttons, and a random visitor ID stored in your browser’s localStorage. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar third-party ad trackers on this site.
- Technical / security logs: IP address may be used briefly for rate limiting abuse on public APIs; we do not sell it.
- Essential cookies: session cookies only when you sign in to the client portal or admin area.
What we do not collect
- Biometric identifiers (for example fingerprints, face geometry, or voiceprints). Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) therefore does not apply to ordinary use of this marketing site because we do not collect biometric information.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
- We do not ask for Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, or payment card numbers through the public contact form.
How we use information
- Respond to inquiries and scope freelance work
- Operate the client portal and deliver project updates
- Secure the site (auth, rate limits, spam/honeypot checks)
- Understand aggregate site usage when you accept analytics
- Improve content and services
We do not sell personal information or rent email lists.
Sharing and processors
We share information only as needed to run the business, for example:
- Hosting / infrastructure (for example Vercel or similar) to serve the site
- Database hosting (for example Turso/libSQL) for leads, projects, and analytics events
- Email delivery (for example Resend) to notify us of new inquiries
These providers process data on our behalf under their terms. We do not authorize them to use inquiry data for their own marketing.
Retention
- Leads / inquiries: kept as long as needed to respond, quote, and keep a reasonable business record of conversations, then deleted or archived when no longer needed.
- Portal / project data: for the life of the engagement and a reasonable period afterward unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Analytics events: retained for operational reporting; you can stop new analytics by choosing “Essential only” in the cookie banner or clearing site data.
Security
We use HTTPS in production, session-based auth for protected areas, security headers, rate limiting, and server-side validation on forms. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to apply reasonable safeguards appropriate to a small consultancy website.
Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)
Illinois’ Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS 530) requires entities that own or license certain “personal information” about Illinois residents to maintain reasonable security measures and to notify affected residents (and, in some cases, the Illinois Attorney General) if that information is acquired in a security breach. PIPA’s definition of “personal information” is relatively specific (for example, a name combined with SSN, driver’s license/state ID, certain financial account data, medical/health insurance data, biometric data, or username/email with a password or security question).
Through the public contact form we primarily collect name and email for business inquiries, not the sensitive combinations above. Client portal credentials and any additional project materials are protected with access controls. If a breach involving covered personal information of Illinois residents occurs, we will investigate promptly and provide notice as required by applicable law, without unreasonable delay.
California CCPA / CPRA
The California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA generally applies to businesses that meet specific thresholds (for example, revenue or volume of personal information). Morkos Automation is a small Illinois consultancy and, based on our current size and operations, we do not believe we are a “business” required to provide CCPA/CPRA consumer request workflows. We still do not sell personal information. If our obligations change, we will update this policy.

We aim to keep the site usable, but we do not claim formal WCAG conformance. If you hit a barrier accessing content or forms, contact us and we will try to help.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you acknowledge the updated policy.
